A shooting incident at an apartment complex in Southeast Dallas resulted in the death of one man and left a juvenile in serious condition late Saturday night, law enforcement officials reported.
Authorities responded to the scene on Great Trinity Forest Way at approximately 11:35 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered that a male suspect had opened fire inside an apartment, injuring two individuals before fleeing the scene.
The injured juvenile was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, an adult male victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Crime scene technicians collected multiple shell casings from both inside and outside the apartment as part of their investigation. Homicide detectives are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting, questioning several witnesses who were present during the incident and canvassing the area for potential surveillance footage.
While the investigation continues, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
