Harris County Deputy Injured in Collision with 18 Wheeler on Aldine Bender Road

A Harris County deputy and a firefighter were hospitalized following a collision with an 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place on Aldine Bender, close to the intersection with West Hardy Toll Road.

According to officials, the crash occurred when the 18-wheeler was heading south on West Hardy while a fire truck, responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated, was traveling west on Aldine Bender. As both vehicles entered the intersection, they collided.

The impact of the collision also caused the fire truck to strike a minivan and a patrol vehicle that was parked in the eastbound lanes, waiting to turn left.

Both the deputy and the firefighter sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Investigators are currently looking into the details that led to the crash.
