Houston Weather Forecast: Enjoy Near Record Warmth This Week!

HOUSTON – This week, residents can expect continued sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures, with only a slight indication of a potential pattern change set to return later next week.

The city is experiencing a warm end to March, with record high temperatures being observed. On Saturday, Bush Airport recorded a high of 87 degrees, a temperature not seen in Houston on March 21 since 1907. Meanwhile, Hobby Airport reached 86 degrees, surpassing the previous daily record of 84 set in 2017. Sunday continued the trend, with temperatures remaining well above average, peaking in the mid-80s.

As a late spring and early summer-like weather pattern settles in, even warmer temperatures are forecasted. The expected highs for the upcoming days are only a couple of degrees away from the current records, suggesting that more records could be broken as the workweek begins.

In addition to the heat, critical fire weather conditions are affecting regions across Texas. Areas from Amarillo to Midland and into central Texas face an elevated risk of wildfires due to gusty northerly winds reaching up to 45 mph and relative humidity levels dropping into the teens.

The dry weather is anticipated to persist, with rain chances remaining low throughout the weekend and into early next week, likely exacerbating the ongoing drought situation in the region.
