Watch the Dramatic EF 3 Tornado Devastate Mineral Wells in Stunning Video

Footage from a home security camera vividly captured the moment an EF-3 tornado struck Mineral Wells, Texas, on the evening of April 28, causing significant damage to the area. The powerful storm resulted in injuries and destruction across the North Texas suburb.

The doorbell camera video reveals the tornado’s ferocity as it uprooted trees and wreaked havoc in a residential neighborhood. With wind speeds reaching 145 mph, the tornado impacted over 130 structures and left five individuals requiring medical attention.

Local resident Paul Wells shared the dramatic footage with Storyful, showcasing the storm’s intensity as it swept through the community. The torrential rain and winds created near-zero visibility, emphasizing the tornado’s destructive power.

In a statement, Wells confirmed that “everyone is safe, and we are beginning the rebuilding process now.” City officials reported extensive damage, particularly to manufacturing facilities and homes, as the tornado flattened structures in its path.

Cleanup operations are currently underway in Mineral Wells, where approximately 132 buildings have been affected. A storm survey team from the National Weather Service verified the tornado’s strength and speed shortly after the event.

Mineral Wells Mayor Reagan Johnson noted that one severely damaged structure was the Ventamatic facility, though fortunately, few employees were present at the time of the storm. “It’s difficult to articulate how different this situation could have been for our city,” she remarked.

City officials are working diligently to secure the most impacted areas before allowing residents and business owners to return. Utility crews are expected to restore power to the majority of the city by Thursday afternoon, and a curfew will be in place from 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday to ensure public safety.
