A resident of New Braunfels has claimed a remarkable $20 million prize from the Texas Lottery’s scratch-off game, $20 Million Supreme.
The winning ticket was purchased at a local H-E-B store, and the winner has chosen to remain anonymous. In a statement released by the Texas Lottery, the individual revealed, “I’ve been playing Texas Lottery scratch ticket games for about 15 years. I love the thrill of the instant win.”
Upon discovering the top prize, the claimant expressed disbelief, stating, “My first reaction was, ‘Wow!’ After I scratched the ticket, I kept looking at it to make sure the numbers matched. I must have checked it a dozen times.”
The winner intends to use the substantial winnings to eliminate debts and invest in their grandchildren’s education. Additionally, the H-E-B store that sold the ticket may qualify for a $10,000 bonus as part of the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program.
This win marks the fourth and final $20 million top prize to be claimed from the $20 Million Supreme game, which has a total prize pool exceeding $829 million. The overall odds of winning a prize of $150 or more in this game are one in 3.49, with prizes beginning at $150. Players with winning tickets from this game have until February 17 to claim their prizes.
