Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three persons of interest connected to the tragic shooting of Floydrick Washington, who lost his life while waiting at a red light in northeast Houston.
On April 22, Floydrick Washington was fatally shot at the intersection of Laura Koppe Road and Hirsch Road. In an effort to gather more information, Houston police have released images of three individuals observed at an apartment complex on Bennington shortly before the incident. It is important to note that these individuals are not currently classified as suspects but are wanted solely for questioning.
Investigators remain uncertain about whether Washington was targeted specifically or if he was simply a random victim. In the meantime, his family is urgently seeking answers and is encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Floydrick’s loved ones remember him fondly. His sister, Dewamica Washington, described him as a remarkable person who was generous, loving, and compassionate. Monique Washington, another sister, echoed these sentiments, calling him the best brother, father, uncle, and friend one could ask for.
On the day of the shooting, Floydrick was stopped at a red light when the tragic event occurred. The Houston police have made it clear that they are looking for three men who were recorded on video at an apartment complex shortly before the shooting.
Floydrick’s daughter, Nevaeh Washington, expressed her desire for answers, stating, “If I saw the person who did it, I would ask them why. He would do no harm to nobody. He was giving, he was caring, he would have done anything for them.”
If you recognize any of the individuals in the released images, you are urged to contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
