HOUSTON – A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of Southeast Texas, effective from noon to 7 PM on Sunday and Monday. Residents can expect temperatures to soar into the upper 90s and low 100s, with the heat index climbing to between 106 and 110 degrees.
This advisory is anticipated to be extended through the middle of the week, as the heat wave shows no signs of abating.
The weekend forecast indicates continued high temperatures, with many areas likely remaining dry. However, there is a slight chance of showers, particularly in regions northeast of Houston.
In terms of tropical weather, the Atlantic remains relatively calm for this time of year, with no immediate organized threats to Texas. A tropical wave is projected to emerge off the coast of Africa, where conditions may become favorable for development as it progresses across the Atlantic. Observations will continue on this tropical wave, especially as activity typically ramps up leading into the peak of hurricane season in September.
