Five individuals have been apprehended in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on September 11 at an apartment complex in Lewisville, Texas. Authorities have indicated that the shooting was a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence.
The Lewisville Police Department announced that four of the suspects, comprising three adults and a juvenile, were arrested in Colorado. The fifth suspect, identified as Daniel Jesus Rodriguez Perez, was taken into custody in Plano.
On September 25, Perez was transported to the Lewisville Jail following his arrest. The other four suspects—Gabriel Eduardo Olivo Olivo, Erian Jose Espinoza Martinez, Carly Yoalbert Guerrero Aguero, and the unidentified juvenile—are currently being held in Colorado as arrangements are made for their transfer to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office. All four adults face murder charges, while the specific charges against the juvenile remain undisclosed.
The shooting resulted in the death of an adult Hispanic male, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Numerous law enforcement agencies collaborated with the Lewisville Police Department to facilitate these arrests. This included support from the FBI’s Dallas and Denver field offices, the U.S. Marshal’s Service, as well as local police and sheriff’s departments in Colorado and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Lewisville Police Chief Brook Rollins expressed pride in the investigative team’s efforts, stating, “Our detectives have worked day after day, following the evidence across jurisdictions and state lines. These arrests are an important step, but the investigation is not over. There is still work to be done, and our team will continue it with the same persistence and professionalism that got us here. Violent crime has no place in Lewisville, and anyone who commits it should expect our investigators to keep working until justice is served.”
