Suspect Wanted: Man Steals Cash and Newport Cigarettes from Dallas Convenience Store

Robbery Suspect Sought in Oak Cliff Convenience Store Heist

Dallas police are actively searching for a suspect linked to a robbery that occurred last month at a convenience store in Oak Cliff. The incident, which took place on September 9, was captured on surveillance cameras, but the suspect’s identity remains a mystery.

According to law enforcement, the robbery unfolded at Buy Low Discount Beer & Wine, situated in the 2900 block of South RL Thornton Freeway. At approximately 10:46 p.m., a man dressed entirely in black entered the store and threatened the clerk with a handgun, demanding cash and Newport cigarettes.

The footage shows the suspect compelling the store employee to empty the cash register into a black duffel bag. In addition to the cash, the suspect insisted that the clerk also place a stock of Newport cigarettes from behind the counter into the bag before fleeing the scene.

The store clerk described the robber as a 5’7″ Black male, but due to the nature of the surveillance footage, which obscured the suspect’s facial features, identifying him has proven challenging.

Detective Eduardo Lopez Villa of the Dallas Police Department expressed confidence that the community can assist in solving this case. “We know the streets talk. We know people talk, and rumors go around,” he stated. “Any piece of information that can help us solve this case is crucial, especially considering that this individual may have committed similar crimes in the past.”

Detective Villa emphasized the urgency of apprehending the suspect to prevent further incidents. “He’s going to keep doing it, so help us get justice for this victim and hopefully prevent other victims from getting assaulted by this guy,” he added.
