Wallet of Missing Denton Woman Discovered on Hwy 380 Amid Ongoing Search for Husband

Nearly three weeks after the mysterious disappearance of 42-year-old Marjulin Daiuru Briceño Arrieta, her wallet has been discovered by volunteers along Highway 380 in Denton County. This significant find comes as law enforcement intensifies their search for her estranged husband, Richard Pastor Perez, who is now wanted on murder charges.

Briceño Arrieta was last seen on September 28, after meeting Perez at his apartment to discuss the sale of a vehicle. Following her disappearance, police located her abandoned car near Perez’s residence, and investigators noted that the license plates on both vehicles had been switched. A surveillance camera tracked Perez’s SUV traveling through New Mexico, but he remains elusive.

While authorities have not located Briceño Arrieta’s body, they have concluded that she is likely deceased based on evidence gathered during the investigation. The active search for Perez continues, with both local police and the FBI involved in the effort.

Investigation Developments

On Saturday, private investigator Alfonso Solis and volunteers focused their efforts in areas they believed could yield new information about Briceño Arrieta’s whereabouts. The discovery of her wallet, along with additional undisclosed items, marks the first breakthrough in the case after weeks of searching.

“Nothing’s been found in three weeks. This is the first clue that we have, so it’s a breakthrough for the family,” Solis stated, noting that the findings have been relayed to law enforcement. He expressed optimism about the narrowed search area, suggesting that the new information provides a solid starting point for investigators.

As of now, Denton police have no further updates regarding the case.
