Elderly Rockwall Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Wife at Home: Police Report

An 80-year-old man has been apprehended following the shooting of his 72-year-old wife at their residence in Rockwall, Texas. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, leading to a critical situation for the victim.

Local police responded to a shooting report at approximately 10 a.m. on Stafford Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The suspect, identified as Steven Boewe, reportedly left the scene and walked to a neighbor’s house to inform them of the incident. He has since been taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault—family violence, categorized as a first-degree felony. Boewe is currently detained at the Rockwall County Jail, with no bond set at this time.

Authorities from the Rockwall Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are currently looking into the case. While the motive for the shooting has yet to be determined, officials have indicated that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
