Fatal Shooting Outside East Austin Club: Police Launch Investigation

A man was fatally shot outside the Cabana Club in East Austin on the evening of April 10, 2026. The incident has prompted an investigation by local law enforcement.

Austin police received a disturbance call at approximately 8:40 p.m. regarding a conflict involving a group of individuals inside the club, which escalated to gunfire outside the venue located on the 5000 block of E. 7th Street.

Officers arrived shortly after the report and discovered an adult male suffering from significant injuries. Despite efforts to save his life, he was declared dead at 9:02 p.m.

Authorities noted that other individuals linked to the incident sought treatment at nearby hospitals. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, and police confirmed that this appears to be an isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the community.

This shooting marks the 20th homicide in Austin for the year 2026.

As of late Friday night, no weapon had been recovered, and details regarding the number of individuals involved in the altercation or their conditions remain unclear.
