A woman was shot outside her residence in north Harris County by an alleged stalker while returning home from church. In a dramatic turn of events, the victim’s boyfriend, who was closely following her home, struck the suspect with his vehicle as he attempted to flee the scene. Both the woman and the suspect were subsequently hospitalized and are expected to recover, according to officials.
The incident unfolded around 9:37 p.m. on Hartwick Road, near Aldine Westfield Road in the Lindale Farms neighborhood, as reported by Lieutenant Berry of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Officers responded to a call regarding a shooting and learned that the woman had reported seeing someone in her yard, a person who had been stalking her for several days.
As the woman sat in her vehicle, the suspect opened fire, hitting her in the shoulder. In a timely response, the woman’s boyfriend, who had been trailing her, witnessed the suspect trying to escape and ran him over with his car.
The injured woman was taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery. The specifics regarding potential charges against the suspect remain unclear, as both the identities of the victim and the alleged stalker have not yet been disclosed.
