A suspect linked to a double homicide in Tennessee has been apprehended by Border Patrol in Texas. The arrest occurred this week as Edgar Beltran attempted to cross the border at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge in Laredo.
Beltran, 20 years old, was identified as a suspect in a deadly shooting incident that took place in Nashville, Tennessee, in May. Authorities reported that the violence stemmed from a gun deal that escalated between two groups, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals.
During the shooting, Aldo Sosa Arteaga, aged 20, and 19-year-old Alijzhia Hatcher lost their lives as both parties exchanged gunfire.
Following his arrest, Beltran is set to be extradited back to Nashville, where he will face serious charges including criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide.
In a prior incident, Beltran had been arrested in October 2024 on charges of attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and felony reckless endangerment, resulting in a sentence of six years of supervised probation.
