Houston Police Launch Investigation into Hobby Airport Incident

Houston police are currently investigating an incident that took place at Hobby Airport on Saturday evening, following a report of a bomb threat involving a plane.

Authorities confirmed that a call was received shortly before 7:30 p.m. regarding a potential hazard at the airport. Hobby Airport later announced on social media that the threat was connected to a Southwest Airlines flight.

In response to the situation, Southwest Airlines stated that another flight on the ground underwent a security screening at the request of local law enforcement. This precautionary measure caused a temporary hold on other incoming flights.

Passengers at the airport took to social media to share their experiences as they awaited updates while remaining on the tarmac.

Fortunately, Houston police later reported that nothing suspicious was found during their search, allowing passengers to safely disembark from the aircraft. Southwest Airlines confirmed that their operations had resumed, and Hobby Airport assured that it was fully operational.

The airport has advised travelers to reach out to their respective airlines for the most current flight information.
