Austin Police are actively pursuing a suspect following an assault on a security officer at Huston-Tillotson University. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on August 1 at the university’s campus located at 900 Chicon Street.
According to police reports, the confrontation began when the security officer discovered an individual trespassing on the university grounds and attempted to escort him off the premises. During this interaction, the suspect assaulted the security officer, resulting in minor injuries.
Authorities have released details regarding the suspect, who was captured on security cameras following the incident. He is described as a Black male, last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, blue warm-up pants, dark sliders, and green socks.
Anyone with information that could assist in identifying the suspect is urged to contact the Austin Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5245. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
