Australian soccer fans created quite a spectacle at a Walmart in Arlington, Texas, just before their national team faced Egypt in a World Cup match on Friday. The scene, which unfolded in close proximity to Dallas Stadium, showcased the spirited enthusiasm of the fans.
Videos capturing the lively takeover quickly gained traction on social media. Enthusiastic chants echoed through the store, with phrases like “We’re going to Walmart” ringing out as fans entered, followed by the tongue-in-cheek declaration, “We’re getting deported” as they exited.
In total, over 100 supporters participated in this impromptu rally, transforming the Walmart into a hub of camaraderie and excitement. However, the Arlington Police Department had to step in to disperse the crowd as the situation escalated.
Unfortunately for the Socceroos, their spirited support did not translate into victory, as Australia was eliminated from the tournament following a loss to Egypt on penalty kicks later that afternoon.
