Two individuals have been charged with capital murder in Dallas after a tragic incident resulted in the death of a pregnant woman’s unborn child. The shooting occurred on Wimbelton Way, where police report that the suspects followed a man from a nearby business before opening fire into his vehicle.
The suspects, identified as 17-year-old Yeremy Zapata Aleman and 20-year-old Keyner Calero Jiron, allegedly engaged in a confrontation with the man and then pursued him as he drove away. In the course of the shooting, the pregnant woman was struck, leading to the subsequent loss of her baby.
Emergency services from Dallas Fire-Rescue rushed the woman to the hospital, where it was confirmed that her child did not survive. Following the incident, both suspects were apprehended and now face several serious charges, including capital murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of narcotics, and firearms violations.
Aleman and Jiron are currently held at the Dallas County Jail, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
