This weekend, celebrity chef Duff Goldman is set to captivate audiences in North Texas with his inaugural one-man show, “The Tao of Duff.” The event will take place at the Texas Theater on Sunday, October 11, at 8 PM, blending elements of history, baking demonstrations, and stand-up comedy.
Goldman, known for his vibrant personality and talent, will perform live as he stretches phyllo dough onstage, shares personal anecdotes, and even serves apple strudel to attendees. This unique showcase is part of an extensive 11-city tour where Goldman transitions from the kitchen to the stage, offering a distinctive evening filled with storytelling, humor, and baking science.
Over the years, Goldman has become a household name, crafting remarkable cakes for a variety of high-profile clients, including presidents and rock stars. In this show, he will delve into his own life story, recounting experiences from his great-grandmother’s daring past to his diverse career in fast food, fine dining, and music, ultimately leading to the creation of his successful cake business.
“I’m going to bake, tell stories nobody’s heard, and probably say something I shouldn’t,” Goldman remarked, emphasizing the unique experience of being present in the audience. “You can’t get that from a TV screen. You have to be in the room.”
Goldman first gained fame on the Food Network’s “Ace of Cakes,” where he and his team at Charm City Cakes revolutionized custom cake design. He continues to influence the culinary world as a mentor on “Baking Championship: Next Gen” and as a judge on “Holiday Baking Championship.” His cookbook, “Super Good Baking for Kids,” made its debut on the New York Times bestseller list, and fans can explore his culinary creations through various platforms, including GoldBelly and Baketivity.
This event, organized by Spune Productions, is part of the Texas Theater’s Live Events series. Tickets for “Duff Goldman Presents: The Tao of Duff” are priced at $38.66 and can be purchased at TheTexasTheatre.com.
