East Downtown Train Accident: Woman and Two Dogs Involved in Collision with Train

A woman has been hospitalized following a train collision involving her vehicle in East Downtown on Tuesday evening, as reported by the Houston Police Department.

The incident occurred when the woman, driving a Ford Expedition, was parked on the railroad tracks located on Sampson Street between Rusk and McKinney. She had two dogs with her in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was struck by a Union Pacific freight train. The woman was subsequently transported to a hospital where she is currently in stable condition. The two dogs were taken to a local shelter for care.

As of now, the reason for the woman’s vehicle being stopped on the tracks remains unclear. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
