"Family of Frisco Sledding Tragedy Victim Shares Heartfelt Memories to Keep Her Name Alive"

The family of a teenager tragically killed in a sledding accident in Frisco has spoken publicly for the first time since the incident. Elizabeth Angle, a 16-year-old sophomore at Wakeland High School, lost her life after a sled being towed by a Jeep collided with a tree. The accident, which occurred on a residential street, also left another teen in critical condition.

Elizabeth’s parents, Megan and Brian Angle, fondly remember their daughter as a bright, talented young woman whose defining trait was her kindness. “She was really pretty inside and out,” her father remarked, adding that she had a playful spirit. Elizabeth was not only a dedicated student but also a skilled soccer player, representing both her school and an FC Dallas club team.

Megan Angle expressed the shock of their loss, saying, “We are just regular people. We just try to be good parents, and it’s just one of those where you hear these stories like oh, that will never happen to me. And it did.” Brian Angle echoed her sentiment, emphasizing the family’s desire to keep Elizabeth’s memory alive. “We just don’t want her name to go away,” he stated.

The community of Frisco is mourning the loss of Elizabeth, who was described as a beacon of positivity. Witnesses reported that the sled, which was being pulled by a 16-year-old driver, hit a curb before crashing into a tree at the intersection of Majestic Gardens Drive and Killian Court. Despite efforts to save her, Elizabeth passed away at the hospital, while her friend remains in the ICU.

The Angles are using this heart-wrenching moment to urge other parents to recognize the dangers associated with winter activities. “I know kids think they are invincible. It was literally an instant,” Megan shared. The family believes that Elizabeth would have wanted to impart a message of kindness to others if she were still here. “She would just tell you to be kind. That was the thing,” Brian reflected.

Megan also shared a poignant moment of comfort she felt for her daughter, stating, “I really could feel her. And that made me feel really comforted. I believe she is in a better place. And we will see her again.”

The surviving teen involved in the accident is still on life support, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Frisco police have stated that the Denton County District Attorney’s Office will decide if any charges will be filed. In a show of support, Wakeland High School plans to honor Elizabeth during the second period once classes resume, offering assistance to grieving students and staff.
