AUSTIN, Texas – Farrah Abraham, known for her role on “Teen Mom,” has officially declared her candidacy for a seat on the Austin City Council, aiming to challenge the current officeholder in the upcoming November 2026 election.
Initially, Abraham had indicated her intention to run for mayor, but she soon clarified via her Instagram that she is seeking the District 5 position on the City Council, currently held by Ryan Alter.
On January 15, she submitted her campaign finance report to the City of Austin, though it does not yet specify the office she is pursuing.
Abraham, who has transitioned from reality television to a multifaceted career as a writer, singer, and adult film actress, aims to address key issues in her campaign. Her platform includes plans to tackle Austin’s housing crisis, bolster support for first responders, and invest in the city’s SWAT team.
