A firefighter sustained minor injuries when part of an apartment building collapsed during a fire response in Pflugerville on Friday afternoon. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any significant injuries among the residents.
The blaze, which could have affected approximately 24 apartments, broke out shortly before 4 p.m. in the 14000 block of Renaissance Court. Around 40 firefighters from the Travis County Emergency Services District 2 were dispatched to combat the flames.
During the firefighting efforts, a partial roof collapse occurred, leading to the firefighter’s injuries. He received prompt medical attention and was evaluated on-site. Although some residents were assessed for smoke exposure, there were no serious health concerns reported.
Investigators are currently working to ascertain the cause of the fire. The situation remains under examination as officials gather more information.
