A Houston man is facing legal repercussions following an unsettling incident that took place on Monday. Roman Brewington, 31, has been charged with invasive visual recording after allegedly capturing images of at least two women in a public restroom.
The Houston Police Department responded to a call reporting suspicious activity at the Dandelion Cafe around 1:45 p.m. A 20-year-old woman alerted authorities after discovering a black phone positioned near a restroom trash can, concealed under a paper towel.
The woman suspected the phone was recording and promptly took it to the cafe’s management before calling 911 to report the situation. Law enforcement officials were able to identify Brewington as the owner of the phone, leading to his detention in connection with the incident.
According to court documents, Brewington’s actions involved recording at least two women without their consent in a public restroom. Following consultations with the District Attorney, Brewington was subsequently arrested and charged.
The Dandelion Cafe released a statement regarding the incident, emphasizing their commitment to the safety and well-being of their guests and staff. They noted that their team had responded promptly and followed the necessary procedures by contacting law enforcement. The cafe has also banned Brewington and his associates from all their locations and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
