An investigation is currently underway following an incident in which a Houston Fire Department engine collided with a METRORail train, resulting in the train derailing near downtown.
The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, close to the intersection of North Main and Hogan Streets. According to officials, the fire truck was responding to an emergency call, and at the time of the collision, it had its emergency lights and sirens activated.
As a consequence of the crash, one individual was transported to a hospital, though their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. Other individuals were assessed at the scene, but no additional injuries have been reported.
