Houston Weather Update: Gradual Warm Up Expected This Week

HOUSTON – After experiencing a brisk start to the day, with temperatures hovering in the upper 40s to lower 50s, residents enjoyed a sunny afternoon with highs reaching the mid-70s.

As we move into the new week, a gradual warming trend is anticipated. Temperatures are expected to climb back into the low to mid-80s, with some areas possibly nearing 90 degrees by Friday.

The forecast indicates minimal chances of rain throughout the week, with probabilities remaining below 10% for any showers. The lower dewpoints will contribute to a relatively dry atmosphere.

Nor’easter Development

Meanwhile, meteorologists are keeping an eye on a nor’easter that is forecasted to begin forming off the coast of the Carolinas late Sunday. Although the system’s path and intensity are still uncertain, it may bring showers, gusty winds, high surf, and the potential for coastal flooding from Florida to New Jersey.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring this situation closely, as there is a slight possibility the system could develop into a tropical entity if it stalls over warmer waters. Currently, the likelihood of this development over the next week stands at 30%.
