Man Receives 20 Year Sentence for Aggravated Child Sexual Assault

A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following his conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The case involved a disturbing incident that occurred in December 2024 at a residence in Cedar Park, Texas.

On December 27, 2024, police responded to a report concerning the aggravated sexual assault of a child. Their investigation quickly identified the suspect as 32-year-old Mason Hidalgo. The victim in this case was just four years old.

Upon his arrest, Hidalgo was taken to the Cedar Park Police Department for questioning. Following the interview, he was booked into the Williamson County Jail, where he faced charges related to the aggravated sexual assault of the child.

Crucial to the case was DNA evidence collected during the investigation. Analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety crime lab confirmed that Hidalgo’s DNA was found on the victim.

On March 27, Hidalgo entered a guilty plea to the charges against him and subsequently received a 20-year prison sentence.
