The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office has successfully recaptured a murder suspect who had been evading authorities after removing her ankle monitor. Lisa Mitchell, 35, was apprehended on March 18 following a coordinated investigation that incorporated public tips.
Initially charged with murder in connection to a fentanyl overdose incident in North Richland Hills last year, Mitchell is now facing additional charges for breaching the conditions of her bond. After her release from the Tarrant County jail, she was mandated to wear an ankle monitor, which she subsequently removed, leading to her disappearance.
While the exact location of her recapture has not been disclosed, the Sheriff’s Office had previously indicated that she possessed the resources and connections necessary to leave the area. After her arrest, she was transported back to the Tarrant County Jail to face the new charges.
Mitchell was one of three individuals charged in the aforementioned fentanyl overdose case, highlighting the ongoing issues related to drug-related crimes in the region.
