Nick Reiner will not be appearing in court today due to medical issues, as stated by his attorney Alan Jackson. The announcement was made outside a courthouse in Los Angeles.
Jackson indicated that he was unaware of the specifics regarding his client’s medical condition, but confirmed that Nick Reiner is expected to remain absent from court until at least Wednesday.
Greg Risling, a representative from the district attorney’s office, also commented on the situation, expressing his understanding that Nick Reiner is unable to attend due to medical reasons.
At 32 years old, Nick Reiner was taken into custody on Sunday in connection with the murders of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. He is currently being held in jail without the option for bail. His arrest occurred just hours after the tragic discovery of his parents’ deceased bodies in their home located in the affluent Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Prior to the incident, the Reiners had attended a party hosted by Conan O’Brien, where it is reported that Rob and Nick Reiner engaged in a brief yet heated argument, according to sources present at the gathering.

Rob Reiner was a celebrated Emmy-winning actor known for his role in the iconic sitcom “All in the Family,” and he later gained fame as a director of beloved films such as “When Harry Met Sally…” and “The Princess Bride.” He was also recognized for his long-standing advocacy for liberal causes. Michele Singer Reiner was a talented photographer, film producer, and a champion for LGBTQ+ rights. The couple had been married for 36 years.
Just three months prior to the incident, Nick Reiner was seen with his parents and siblings at the premiere of his father’s film “Spinal Tap 2: The End Continues.”
Nick has openly discussed his battles with addiction, experiencing various treatment programs and periods of homelessness throughout his teenage years. His relationship with Rob Reiner had shown signs of improvement during the making of the 2016 film “Being Charlie,” which they collaborated on. Although not strictly autobiographical, the film drew on aspects of their lives.
