Fort Worth is gearing up for its largest annual litter cleanup event, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026. This year marks the 41st Annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup, organized by Keep Fort Worth Beautiful (KFWB). Thousands of volunteers will come together to remove litter from neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces throughout the city.
Participation is open to individuals, families, schools, churches, and businesses, encouraging everyone to contribute. Volunteers can choose to clean any public area, including streets and parks, or opt for designated hub locations throughout Fort Worth.
Early registration is encouraged, as the first 3,000 volunteers to sign up will receive a complimentary event T-shirt. All volunteers will be provided with cleanup supplies, including trash bags and gloves. To register and find cleanup sites, visit fortworthtexas.gov/cowtowncleanup.
In addition to the cleanup, the City of Fort Worth will hold a free scrap tire collection event on the same day. This initiative aims to combat illegal dumping and minimize fire hazards while keeping tires out of landfills. Residents can bring unwanted tires from their homes or collect discarded tires from roadways and neighborhoods. Participation in the cleanup is not required, and there is no limit on the number of tires accepted.
The scrap tire collection will take place at Fort Worth City Hall in the back parking lot, accessible via the Forest Park Boulevard entrance, from 8 a.m. to noon. For more details on the scrap tire event and accepted items, visit fortworthtexas.gov/cowtowncleanup.
After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to attend Earth Party at Trinity Park, a celebration honoring the dedication of volunteers throughout the year. This festive event will feature food, drinks, live music, entertainment, and various exhibitor promotions, including the annual Trashion Fashion Show.
The Trashion Fashion Show invites participants to showcase their creativity by designing outfits made from at least 50% discarded or recycled materials. Participants will have the chance to present their creations on stage during Earth Party, with prizes awarded to selected winners.
