The trial date for Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, also known as Lontrell Williams Jr., has been set for July 6, 2026, in a federal court in Dallas. He faces serious allegations in connection with the kidnapping and armed robbery of fellow rapper Gucci Mane during a recording session earlier this year.
According to federal prosecutors, Williams is accused of orchestrating a robbery that took place in January at a Dallas studio, where he and several accomplices allegedly held Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, and his associates at gunpoint. The motive behind this alleged crime was reportedly Williams’ desire to be released from his contract with Gucci Mane’s label, The New 1017 Records.
The case involves a total of nine defendants, including Williams’ father, Lontrell Williams Sr., and fellow rapper Rodney Wright Jr., known as Big30. A pretrial conference is scheduled for July 1, 2026, before Senior U.S. District Judge David Godbey, who will oversee the proceedings.
Defense attorneys have contested the charges, suggesting that investigators lack vital physical evidence to support the claims of robbery and kidnapping. Despite these arguments, Williams has remained in federal custody since his arrest, with a recent ruling confirming probable cause for the kidnapping charge and denying his release pending trial.
The upcoming trial will address the allegations against all nine defendants involved in the case, as they prepare to mount their defenses against the serious charges.
