Tragedy struck at a Starbucks in Allen, Texas, on September 18, when a shooting occurred during a domestic violence incident. The event unfolded around 6 p.m. at the popular coffee shop located on State Highway 121.
According to the Allen Police Department, the altercation involved two men during a child custody exchange. The individuals involved were identified as the children’s father and the mother’s boyfriend, both of whom sustained gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders rushed both men to a local hospital, where the mother’s boyfriend succumbed to his injuries. The father, identified as 48-year-old Jorge Jairala from Dallas, remains hospitalized but is expected to recover from injuries that are not life-threatening. Following the incident, Jairala has been charged with murder.
Fortunately, the children who were present during the custody exchange were unharmed. The police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased boyfriend as investigations are ongoing.
