A shooting near Stop Six Park in Fort Worth on Saturday night left four individuals injured, including a child and a police officer. The incident occurred when a gunman, dressed in black, fired into a crowd, striking three civilians and causing injuries to a law enforcement officer whose patrol vehicle was also hit.
Authorities have reported that one woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head. Fortunately, the injured officer, the child, and another female victim are expected to recover from their non-life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to the scene in the 5200 block of East Rosedale Street at approximately 9:10 p.m., shortly after a large gathering had taken place at the nearby park. Investigators revealed that the shooter emerged from a corner between a business strip and an adjacent apartment complex, targeting a group of people before fleeing into the apartment community.
In addition to the woman who suffered a head injury, a child was grazed by a bullet, and another woman was shot in the hip. The woman managed to drive herself to the hospital, while emergency services transported the child.
The Fort Worth Police Department’s Major Case unit is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting. They are actively seeking information from the public.
