Taylor Rehmet: Your Candidate for Texas State Senate District

As we approach the end of the year, I find myself reflecting on the journey thus far with a sense of gratitude.

Like many others, I took some time during the holidays to slow down, reconnect with family, and take a moment to breathe. For the first time in quite a while, there was a sense of quietude. Yet, even in those peaceful moments, my campaign remained active, driven by the significant stakes of our current circumstances.

My team and I have been diligently working behind the scenes, planning, organizing, and preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.

This past year, I’ve had the privilege of walking through neighborhoods and engaging with residents across Senate District 9. I’ve listened to stories shared around kitchen tables and on front porches, hearing from individuals from various backgrounds. From parents striving to support their families to seniors concerned about their ability to remain in their long-time homes, and young people questioning if Texas will provide a space for their futures.

Time and again, I encounter a common reality: life is becoming increasingly expensive, and working families are bearing the burden.

This issue is personal for me. I am grateful for something that too many Texans struggle to obtain—reliable health insurance. No one should lie awake at night fearing that a health issue could lead to losing their home, savings, or future. Yet for millions of Texans, that anxiety is a constant presence.

As we look toward 2026, the rising costs of essentials like healthcare, home insurance, groceries, and utilities must be prioritized. These are not just political talking points; they represent the daily lives of families, often forcing difficult choices between necessities and affordability.

What inspires me and fuels my determination is the community that this campaign represents.

We take pride in rejecting corporate special-interest funding, even if it means facing financial disadvantages in our campaign. Accountability should be directed towards the people, not large corporations. While we may be outspent, we are certainly not outworked, and I wouldn’t exchange that commitment for anything.

This campaign thrives on the support of everyday individuals—teachers, retirees, veterans, service workers, small-business owners, and neighbors who contribute what they can because they believe in a better Texas. They understand that dignity should not be a privilege, and that hard work deserves a fair opportunity for a good life.

True representation should reflect the community it serves. It is time for the State of Texas to genuinely advocate for the people who sustain it.

As we transition into a new year and prepare for the upcoming runoff election, I want you to know that we are ready, organized, and dedicated to earning your trust and support.

I am sincerely grateful for every conversation we’ve had so far, and I look forward to many more in 2026. If you see your values reflected in this campaign, know that you are an integral part of it. This endeavor belongs to all of us.

If this vision resonates with you and you believe that working individuals deserve representation and a fair chance, I would be honored to earn your vote.

From my family to yours, thank you for the trust you have placed in me this year. Let’s carry this hope forward together.
