An 18-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a crash on Interstate 20 in Arlington, Texas. The incident occurred early Saturday morning when the rider collided with a car.
According to Arlington police, the accident took place around 1 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-20, close to Bowman Springs Road. The motorcycle struck the rear of a Honda Civic at a significant speed, resulting in the rider being thrown from the vehicle.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the young man lying on the shoulder of the highway. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The impact of the collision also caused the Honda Civic to crash into construction barriers in the vicinity. The driver of the Civic sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening and was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Initial investigations suggest that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident. The identity of the deceased rider has not yet been disclosed.
