Tragic Southeast Austin Apartment Fire Claims Lives of 3 Children, 3 Others Hospitalized

Tragedy struck in Southeast Austin early Wednesday morning as three children lost their lives in a devastating apartment fire. The Austin Fire Department confirmed that three additional individuals, including one child, were transported to the hospital by Austin-Travis County EMS.

The fire broke out at 2507 Burleson Road, just east of Interstate 35. Firefighters received the emergency call at approximately 12:55 a.m. and successfully extinguished the blaze by 4:19 a.m. However, upon entering the apartment, crews discovered the children had already succumbed to the flames.

Although the fire was confined to a single apartment, the incident has impacted the lives of many, displacing residents from 30 different units in the building. The Austin Fire Department has urged the public to steer clear of the area as investigations are currently underway.
