A local law firm is offering a $100,000 reward for information that could lead to the identification of the hit-and-run driver of an 18-wheeler responsible for a tragic accident that claimed the life of a father of three in Plano.
Juan Quiroz lost his life on October 21 while commuting to work when his vehicle was struck by the truck, which made an unsafe lane change, resulting in a four-vehicle collision on the Dallas North Tollway. Despite the passage of time, the driver remains unidentified, prompting attorneys to appeal to witnesses for help in providing closure and financial support for Quiroz’s grieving family.
Since the incident, the Quiroz family has been left with unanswered questions and profound sorrow. The accident occurred early in the morning, around 6:30 am, when the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to the scene of the crash.
According to DPS reports, the 18-wheeler changed lanes unsafely, striking Quiroz’s Honda Civic, which then collided with a concrete wall and rolled over. Although the drivers of the other vehicles involved survived, Quiroz was pronounced dead at the scene.
The law firm emphasizes that the $100,000 reward aims to encourage someone to come forward, holding the responsible party accountable. The emotional toll on the family is compounded by the financial implications, as they navigate life without their father.
Attorney Brock Duke from the Bison Law Firm expressed concern over the continued presence of the unidentified driver on North Texas roads. He highlighted the profound loss experienced by the family and their struggle to comprehend the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Duke questioned why neither the driver nor the owner of the truck, believed to be associated with a trucking or construction company, has stepped forward. He voiced his concern for public safety, noting that the truck could pose a risk to other drivers on busy highways.
