A 14-year-old boy is now in custody following the tragic shooting of a 15-year-old student near Westfield High School, part of the Spring Independent School District, which occurred on Tuesday. The young suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed due to his age, is believed to also be a student within the same school district.
The victim, 15-year-old Royce Witchet, was critically injured in the incident and subsequently transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The shooting took place on Ella Boulevard around 2:40 p.m., and reports indicate that the suspect fled the scene after the incident.
