On the evening of February 13, four couples gathered at a senior living facility in Houston to reaffirm their lifelong commitments to one another, celebrating the spirit of love just before Valentine’s Day.

The event, held at Stonecreek at Copperfield, showcased couples who have shared more than six decades of marriage. Among them were Lawrence “Red” Lehnert and Betty Lehnert, who marked their remarkable 72nd anniversary. When asked about their secret to a lasting marriage, Red emphasized the importance of cherishing one another and fulfilling their commitments.

Another couple, Peter and Joan Postma, celebrated their 63 years together. Peter proudly spoke of Joan’s impressive achievements, including her gold medal in swimming from the 1960 Olympics, and noted that a school in the CyFair school district bears her name. Joan reflected on their journey, expressing gratitude by saying, “God has been very good.”

This heartwarming ceremony served as a testament to the enduring nature of true love, inspiring those present to believe in the power of lasting relationships.
