A 70-year-old man has been charged with attempting to lure a child into his vehicle in Fort Bend County. The incident involved a Katy ISD student who was on her way to catch the school bus when the man allegedly approached her.
According to reports from the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, the situation unfolded in the Canyon Gate neighborhood of Cinco Ranch. The suspect, driving a white van, first stopped to ask the girl if she needed a ride. He returned shortly afterward and urged her to get into his vehicle.
Deputies promptly located the van and apprehended the suspect. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and arrived at school without incident. Katy ISD officials have been informed about the occurrence.
At this time, the identity of the suspect remains undisclosed.
