A security guard is in critical condition following a violent altercation outside a Dallas business on Saturday night. Authorities report that the guard sustained severe injuries after attempting to remove a disruptive individual from the premises.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. to the 2400 block of West Northwest Highway, where they discovered the guard lying injured in the roadway. Initial investigations revealed that the incident escalated when a man caused a disturbance inside the store.
When the security guard intervened to escort the man out, the situation turned aggressive. Although the guard deployed a Taser to subdue the suspect, it proved ineffective. The assailant then attacked the guard with a weapon, leaving him critically injured before fleeing the scene.
Emergency services transported the guard to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. His identity has not been disclosed. Meanwhile, police quickly apprehended the suspect in the vicinity shortly after the incident.
The suspect’s identity also remains undisclosed as investigations continue. Crime scene technicians worked through the night to gather evidence, with the guard’s equipment scattered across the area. Assault detectives from the Dallas Police Department are leading the ongoing inquiry into the incident.
