The Austin area is currently under a Flash Flood Warning, which is set to remain in effect until 6:15 a.m. on Monday. This alert comes as heavy rainfall sweeps through Central Texas in the early morning hours.
A Flash Flood Warning indicates that flash flooding is either occurring or imminent. In particular, southwestern Burnet County is experiencing a Flash Flood Warning that will last until 3:45 a.m.
In addition, most of Travis County and portions of Bastrop, Lee, and Williamson counties are also affected by the warning until 6:15 a.m. The National Weather Service has reported that some areas have already received up to three inches of rain, with the potential for an additional three inches.
