President Donald J. Trump is scheduled to visit NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston on Friday morning to bestow the Congressional Space Medal of Honor upon the distinguished Artemis II crew.
The ceremony is set to commence at 10 a.m., where the president will be accompanied by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to honor the four crew members.
The crew consists of NASA astronauts Commander Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. They completed a groundbreaking 10-day mission around the Moon on April 10.
This mission functioned as a test flight for NASA’s Orion spacecraft, marking the first time humans have ventured beyond the Moon in over half a century. During their journey, the crew covered a remarkable distance of 695,081 miles, surpassing the previous record established by the Apollo 13 astronauts in 1970.
The ceremony will be available for live streaming, allowing audiences to witness this historic event as it unfolds.
