Two young individuals sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred in Balch Springs on Friday night. The local police responded to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. on Pioneer Road, where they discovered that a black Cadillac was involved in the shooting and had fled the area.
Authorities managed to locate the vehicle and attempted to initiate a stop, but the driver fled, resulting in a police pursuit. With assistance from the Department of Public Safety, officers successfully brought the vehicle to a halt.
The juvenile driver was apprehended and faces charges for possessing an illegal handgun and narcotics, while a juvenile passenger was also arrested on drug possession charges. Meanwhile, a third juvenile in the vehicle had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to a nearby hospital. The specifics of how or where the injury occurred remain unknown.
A second victim from the shooting later arrived at the hospital, and both individuals are reportedly expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators from the Balch Springs Police Department are continuing to look into the details surrounding the shooting, having discovered multiple shell casings at the scene. The identities of those arrested have not yet been disclosed.
