The weather in Houston is set to experience a pleasant change as a cold front swept through southeast Texas on Friday morning, bringing cooler and refreshing conditions for the weekend.
Throughout the weekend, temperatures are expected to stay in the 70s, with morning lows dipping into the 40s and 50s. Additionally, residents can anticipate a significant reduction in humidity alongside an increase in wind speeds.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for parts of southeast Texas, including Bolivar Peninsula, Brazoria Islands, Galveston Islands, and Matagorda Islands, and will remain in effect until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually rise again next week, with forecasts indicating a return to the low to mid-80s, and some areas could even see temperatures reach 90 degrees by Friday.
In terms of tropical activity, the Atlantic basin is currently quiet, with no significant weather systems expected to develop in the next week. However, it’s important to remember that hurricane season lasts until the end of November, so the possibility of another tropical system in the Gulf remains, albeit low.
