The Round Rock Police Department is actively searching for a person of interest following an alleged attack on a teenager who was walking his dog over the weekend.
A 17-year-old victim reported that he was assaulted on the evening of October 10, near the intersection of Stone Manor Trail and Hyde Park Drive in the Homestead at Old Settlers Park neighborhood.
According to police, the attack appeared to be unprovoked, with no prior connection between the suspect and the victim. The suspect is described as a slim, possibly Hispanic male, standing between 5’9″ and 6’2″ tall, with short hair and light facial hair. He was last seen wearing gray clothing and athletic shoes.
Detectives are particularly interested in a person seen running in the vicinity around the time of the incident, and they are seeking him for questioning. Residents in the surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to check their surveillance footage from between 9:40 p.m. and 10 p.m. on that night.
Anyone with information regarding the person of interest or any relevant footage is urged to contact Detective Dwayne Riley at 512-218-6619 or via email at griley@roundrocktexas.gov.
