Dallas Police Launch Investigation into Deadly Shooting on St. Francis Avenue

Dallas police are currently investigating the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old man that occurred on Saturday night in Old East Dallas.

The victim, identified as Levett Gilliam, was discovered with gunshot wounds in the 4600 block of St. Francis Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. Emergency services rushed Gilliam to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Initial findings indicate that Gilliam was shot by unidentified assailants. Authorities have not yet disclosed any details regarding a motive for the attack or descriptions of potential suspects.
