Dallas authorities have charged a 49-year-old woman with murder following a shooting incident in the Red Bird neighborhood that resulted in the death of another woman. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Green Cove Lane shortly before 4 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Tabatha Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. She was swiftly taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, identified as Shanika Battle, was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail facing a murder charge. While it has been confirmed that Battle and Jones were acquainted, the specifics of their relationship remain uncertain.
