A tragic incident occurred in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood on Friday night, resulting in the death of a pedestrian after being struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested.
The collision took place around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and Bellfort Avenue. According to police reports, the pedestrian was hit by a northbound vehicle on Cullen Boulevard. Emergency services transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation. Authorities determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
At this time, the identities of both the pedestrian and the driver have not been released. Investigators have confirmed that both individuals involved in the incident are adult males. They are currently exploring any additional factors that may have contributed to the crash.
