An elderly man was discovered deceased at the site of a shed fire on Collins Road, prompting an investigation by the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire occurred within a warehouse building, according to officials. The exact cause of death is pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
In a statement from Captain Scott Douglas of the Westfield Fire Department, emergency units were dispatched to a commercial property on Collins Road, located near the Eastex Freeway, around 11:43 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a small shed fire inside the warehouse.
Tragically, the elderly man was found deceased within the shed while emergency crews were working to put out the flames, as noted by Douglas.
At this time, the cause of death remains unclear and will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
